February's Pet Spotlight - Jakob

February 2, 2018

This February, UVCC Pet Spotlight is featuring Jakob, a happy, bouncing Basset Hound, who found his forever home with the Hernandez family. Jakob joined his new family shortly after they saw his cute, chubby puppy picture and fell in love almost instantly.

Jakob started out life in the beautiful country of Costa Rica but that's not the only place he has called home. Jakob and the Hernandez family are what you would call “world travelers”. So far Jakob has lived in Costa Rica, Colombia, and now the lovely

state of Kansas.

Jakob and his family first visited University Veterinary Care Center, P.A. after receiving a recommendation from his primary veterinarian. They came to us in hopes to better treat and manage his chronic arthritis. Today, Jakob happily visits us here at UVCC, wagging his tail and brimming with excitement.

Alexandra Hernandez, Jakob’s loving dog mom, shared her thoughts as well by describing how “the staff is amazing with the humans and the animals. They take time and concern for each one. [They] listen and explain. It’s that quality of attention that brings us back even when we moved to the next town”.

The entire staff enjoys Jakob’s visits to UVCC. He has found a special place in our hearts.
