Dr. Jennifer Akers is a K-State alumni graduating from the veterinary program in 2009. But She isn't your ordinary general practice veterinarian, she has also completed training in mixed animal acupuncture fro the Chi Institute and animal chiropractic from Options for Animals.
Dr. Akers started practicing veterinary medicine here at University Veterinary Care Center in 2019 and in her free time, she enjoys playing and coaching volleyball, participating in competitive endurance horseback riding, and spending time with her husband and two children.
When asked what her favorite part of the job is, she told us
" I enjoy the flexibility of animal chiropractic and acupuncture, meaning there are multiple options for treating a patient and it allows me to work more with the patient, not on the patient."
Dr. Amanda Utt, an Oklahoma State University graduate, is the newest addition to the University Veterinary Care Center family.
Dr. Amy Guernsey-Youngblood started at University Veterinary Care Center as an associate veterinarian in 2013 and just three years later she became a co-owner with Dr. Gratton.
Dr. Gratton attended Kansas State University and since 1994, he has practiced veterinary medicine in Topeka, Kansas at University Veterinary Care Center.
